The Matrix Hackathon is a global, online hackathon designed to push the boundaries of on-chain gaming.Builders from around the world will collaborate, experiment, and ship innovative games, integrations, and gamified applications powered by Solana’s fastest and most advanced infrastructure.Whether you are building a new game from scratch or extending an existing product, the Matrix Hackathon is your opportunity to explore what gaming on Solana can truly become.

The Matrix Hackathon exists to empower builders to rethink how gamification is designed, distributed, and experienced on-chain.By leveraging the combined partner stack, participants are encouraged to build meaningful, scalable, and immersive gaming experiences.All projects are built on and for the Play Solana ecosystem, the leading gateway for gaming on Solana.

Participants can submit projects to one or more tracks. Each track focuses on a specific pillar of the Solana gaming stack and is eligible for dedicated prizes.

Anyone. Developers, designers, artists, and builders of all backgrounds are welcome.

Yes. If a project existed before the hackathon, judging will focus on the new track-specific features, improvements, or adaptations built during the hackathon. For example, existing games that are well-adapted or ported to the PSG1 device will be carefully reviewed and considered.

All participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property. By participating, teams grant the organizers the right to showcase or feature submitted projects for promotional purposes.

No. While PSG1 devkits are available to support development, owning the device is not mandatory. Games and applications must be Android-compatible, adapted to the PSG1 screen dimensions and button layout.
