Objectives

Drive early adoption of PSG1 as a first-class gaming platform for Solana games.

Encourage builders to think hardware-first, not web-first, when designing on-chain games.

Establish best practices for controller UX, session design, and wallet-aware gameplay.

Generate high-quality, playable MVPs that can ship directly to the PSG1 game library.

Participants will build games or interactive systems that are designed from day one for the PSG1 handheld.

The goal: demonstrate how dedicated hardware, physical controls, and an integrated wallet enable gaming and gamified experiences that deliver a superior user experience compared to browser-based or mobile-first approaches.

Suggested Challenge Areas

PSG1-first Track by Play Solana

Create entirely new games designed first and foremost for PSG1. Games should be built around the device’s handheld form factor, physical controls, performance profile, and integrated wallet, rather than adapted from browser or mobile-first designs.

Adapting Existing Games for PSG1

Adapt existing games to run natively on PSG1. This includes reworking controls, UX flows and wallet interactions (to leverage Jupiter Mobile Wallet) to feel natural on dedicated gaming hardware.

Crypto Economy Integration in Web2 Games

Integrate a crypto-native economy based on $PLAY into existing Web2 games. Examples include token-based progression, rewards, cosmetics, access gating, or player-driven economies that enhance gameplay without compromising UX.

PSG1 SDKs for Additional Game Engines

Build SDKs, tooling, or integration layers that enable developers to target PSG1 using additional game engines such as Unreal Engine or custom engines. The goal is to expand PSG1’s developer surface beyond Unity and reduce friction for new studios.
